Daimler EDM CAE Forum 2017 Wrap-up
Frenus attended Daimler EDM CAE Forum 2017, at the International Congresscenter (ICS) in Messe Stuttgart on the 19th and 20th of July. The EDM CAE Forum is THE central information and interaction platform for the Engineering Data Management (EDM) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) community of Daimler AG and its partners. The event is organized by Daimler AG and is held every two years.
During these two days, we had a chance to get latest insights about the AI, VR, Cloud and other digitalization topics and also take part in various interesting discussions. Under this year’s moto “Communicate. Cooperate. Inspire.“, Daimler and its partners present the latest product developments and technologies for the automotive industry.
The event attracted around 6,000 attendees worldwide. Major exhibitors were Daimler partners such as T-Systems, Atos, Capgemini, Computacenter, Siemens and Huawei. Both, Daimler AG and external suppliers introduced a large number of current EDM and CAE topics at the exhibition.
More than 100 presentations and workshops
On Wednesday, Daimler CIO Jan Brecht and the EDM CAE top management held the opening presentation of the EDM CAE Forum 2017 and shared the strategic objectives of the Engineering IT and the CAE sector. Through around 100 presentations and interactive workshops which covered a wide range of topics, attendees had a chance to gain insights about different autonomous driving solutions, Data Analytics in Truck Engineering, PLM software solutions and other digitalization topics. After the presentations, there was a warm-up for the evening event with DJane Mellowrose and the band, IT Grooves.
