Initial Situation
- A leading telecommunication provider decided to gain a competetive edge by focusing on events occuring at IT subsidiaries of major companies in the region
- The client contracted us to provide him with a bi-monthly summary of events to support activities of the sales department
- Our deliverables helped the client to identify new customers for his specific products and better target his sales activities
Project Objectives
- At the beginning of the project, our team and the client jointly identified a list of companies of interest and their IT subsidiaries
- The aim of the project was to provide a summary of media coverage of the selected IT subsidiaries and their corporate mothers which would be sent out to the client‘s sales department
- By identifying recent pain points, the client planned to approach an affected company with his own solution to the problem
challenges we faced
- Long-term nature of the project brings challenges with respect to the occasional change in the ownership structure of the selected subsidiaries
- Regular check, whether or not are the selected subsidiaries still in scope of the project, had to be performed
provided by the project team
Research
On bi-monthly basis, our team conducted a research of news sources and databases to identify negative publicity happening to either IT subsidiaries or mother companies
Sources used
The sources included news servers, online versions of renown magazines, press releases, news sections of the selected companies, trade registers and news aggregators (e.g. Echobot)
Short summary
Upon identification, a short summary of the news was prepared and indicated in a file containing results throughout the project history
Finalising the project
Outcome of the project, which consisted of an email newsletter and the historical file, was sent out to relevant persons at the beginning of every second month
